Secondary & Special Schools Football 19.01.22

Wednesday 19th January 2022 – What a start to the PSSP Inclusion Program in 2022! We had 7 teams in attendance today, representing Cann Bridge, Coombe Dean, Plympton Academy and Stoke Damerel. All came along for our termly Inclusion Football festival at Goals, which is a celebration of teamwork, respect and determination. I have always said that these events are one of the best parts of my job and today was no exception: being able to look around at how much the students have developed over the last few years and grown into skilled individuals and great team players, it is inspiring. We play a round-robin style event at these competitions which means that every team gets to play each other. 5 points are awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the morning, all of the points are counted and the winners announced… Congratulations to Plympton Academy who were our overall winners today and to Stoke Damerel ‘A’ who were a very close runner up. Full table of results below. Well done to everyone who took part today, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did and are keen to come back next term. I would like to say a huge thank you to Aaron, Henry and Lucas from SDCC, for doing an amazing job at refereeing and scoring – thank you so much boys, you really helped to make this such an enjoyable event. I am already looking forward to our next event on Wednesday 16th March – see you all there.
