Monday 17th January saw some of Lipson's feeder primary schools take part in the cross country. This event was focussed upon getting students from years 3, 4, 5 and 6 to run, what was a rather wet course. Thankfully the sun was shining and not a cloud could be seen.
The standard was set high after the 3&4 girls kick started the event. This was soon followed by the 3&4 boys which saw a speedy race from start to finish. With only the first four positions being counted for each school team, the overall results were close. Below shows the final placings:
3 & 4 girls 3 & 4 boys
3rd - Prince Rock 3rd - Lipson Vale
2nd - Prince Rock 2nd - Prince Rock
1st - Prince Rock 1st - Prince Rock
The year 5 & 6's went next and the standard again was good. This saw them complete 2 large laps of the Lipson playing fields. WIth some advice from the Lipson leaders beforehand, the students set off. Both boys and girls did extremely well and continued running until the very end. The final placings are below:
5 & 6 girls 5 & 6 boys
3rd - Lipson Vale 3rd - Lipson Vale
2nd - Lipson Vale 2nd - Lipson Vale
1st - Lipson Vale 1st - Laira Green
Overall the students who took part did brilliantly and should be really proud of themselves and their team mates. Thankfully the sun was shining and it ended up being a fantastic event. Thank you to the teachers that brought the students along, and also to the Lipson Sporting leaders for helping to run the event.
Until next time!
Sarah :-)
