Yealmpstone Farm KS2 New Age Kurling 16.11.21

Another exciting morning of sport at Yealmpstone Farm today as we held our C4L New Age Kurling, Level 1 competition for children in Y3/4/6.

This target-based sport has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors, on a flat surface. Each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target. As each group came along, we started with learning the rules and the basics and getting the hang of how hard to deliver the stones.

After several games, we then played a new game where everyone played for themselves to try to become the King or Queen of the court. I think I can safely say that it was an enjoyable morning all round as there was plenty of giggling and some healthy competition going on.

Well done to everyone who took part today – you picked it up so quickly and I think you are better than me already!
