Secondary & Special Schools Football 17.11.21

Wednesday 17th November 2021 – A great turn out this morning for our termly PSSP Secondary & Special Schools Football event at Goals. We had 6 teams with us today, representing Cann Bridge, Stoke Damerel and Coombe Dean. At this event, we play a round-robin style format which means all of the schools get to play each other. 5 points are awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. Although it is a competitive event, our focus is not just about winning – we celebrate the outstanding sportsmanship qualities of Respect, Teamwork and Determination. At the end of the event, the scores are tallied, and we announce our winners. It was incredibly close in the end with 2 teams tied on points for 1st place. In order to determine the overall winner, we had to go back and calculate the number of goals scored by each team and then we found our winner… Congratulations to Stoke Damerel ‘C’ team who took top spot having scored 4 more goals than our runners up, Coombe Dean ‘A’ team. Well done to everyone who took part today, I really hope that you enjoyed it and would be keen to come back again next time. Our next event is on Wednesday 19th January 2022 – I look forward to seeing you all then.
