Widewell New Age Kurling 04.11.2021

Another exciting morning of sport at Widewell today as we opened our Level 1 competitions with Y3 and Y4 New Age Kurling. This target-based sport has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors, on a flat surface.  The Y3 and Y4 children were competing in their House teams to win points. In New Age Kurling, each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target. The first group from Y3 were up first and then their class mates came down for the second session; then we did the same with Y4.

At the end of the morning, all of the results were collated and we were able to celebrate the overall winning House in each year group…Congratulations to Bovisand House for Y3 and Bigbury House for Y4. A full table of results can be found below.

Well done to everyone who took part, I really hope you enjoyed it.
