PSSP Sports Award- Congratulations!

As a partnership, we wanted to recognise and celebrate the achievements schools made throughout what was a very uncertain and difficult year across the whole curriculum. Schools applied for the PSSP Sport award online by answering a few questions about what they had done across the year. From leadership academy’s to inter school events, schools were graded based on the data they provided and given an overall award. It was the first year schools have completed it and the feedback was amazing! 45% of PSSP schools completed the application with 42% of these achieving an award; a fantastic turnout for year one! A great way to celebrate all things sport and PE done in school during COVID-19. As a result of this, this award will continue again for this academic year.

Similar to the previous School Games Mark, there is a criteria to meet, based on the number of pupils on roll in your school, to achieve each award. (Please see the attached document). The document guides you to plan ahead in what you need to do to achieve each award, and gives you the opportunity to engage children in PE in school or at competitions. It would be great to see schools apply again this year, so if you have any questions on how to plan, apply or what you need to do, please contact Hayley ([email protected]).

Like last academic year, a survey monkey link will be sent to all PE Coordinators towards the end of this academic year, for your school to apply for the award. Many things you may do on a usual timetable can count towards your application and this is all explained in the document attached. It doesn’t take long to complete and is a chance to recognise all the wonderful things you have done in PE throughout the year.
