Leigham Level 1 Non-Stop Cricket 05.07.2021

Another fantastic afternoon of sporty fun at Leigham Primary. Today both Y6 groups were introduced to the action-packed game of Non-Stop Cricket. This team sport combines skills from Football, Cricket and Rounders. Each team takes a turn at batting (which is actually kicking), then they try to score as many runs as possible by running around 2 sets of stumps. The fielding team are aiming to get the ball back to the bowler as quickly as possible so that they can bowl the batter out while they are still running around the stumps!

After a quick introduction, it was straight into the games. It took a few minutes for the teams to familiarise themselves with the rules but then they were off! In the first round, Edgcumbe beat Buckland and Cotehele took the win against Saltram. In round 2, Edgcumbe came out on top again against Cotehele and Buckland edged the win over Saltram.

After the final whistle, all the scores were tallied, and the winners announced… Congratulations to Edgcumbe who were the Y6 Non-Stop Cricket champions at the end of the afternoon! Well done to everyone who played today – I hope you all enjoyed it.
