St. George's Level 1 New Age Kurling 04.03.21

What an exciting afternoon of sport again at St. George’s: teams from Reception, through to Y6 had the chance to learn how to play New Age Kurling and play against their teammates in a friendly competition.

This Paralympic target-based sport has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors on a flat surface. In New Age Kurling, each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target.

It really does go to show just how important practice can be in sport, with every group, the more we played, the more accurate they got (and the more competitive too).

All in all, I had a lot of fun this afternoon – I hope you all did too!
