Yealmpstone Farm Level 1 Dodgeball 05.02.2021

Another fantastic (and energetic) morning of sport at Yealmpstone Farm today. Y5 and Y6 were introduced to Dodgeball. On first glimpse, the game can seem very straight forward but as our teams found out, there are a lot more rules and tactics involved when played properly. We started off with the very basics and then slowly introduced more of the rules over time.

It was impressive how quickly all the children picked up the rules and we soon had some very competitive games. It looked so much fun that the teachers could not help but get involved too (although we did get out very quickly).

As well as learning some new skills, we also discussed the importance of Sportsmanship and what this can mean in games like Dodgeball. We introduced an honesty policy so that all players would have to admit if they got hit or if they got out in anyway. All our players were very honest, and each earned a Dojo point for their efforts. All in all, what a great way to spend a morning - having fun, learning new skills, and making sure that we are staying fit and healthy!
