New Age Kurling at Plympton St Maurice

New Age Kurling at Plympton St Maurice 21.10.2020

What an incredible morning of sport at Plympton St. Maurice.

Today we introduced the Y4 children to the game of New Age Kurling. This target-based sport has been adapted from curling so that it can be played indoors, on a flat surface.

The Y4 children were competing in their House teams to win points. In New Age Kurling, each player delivers a ‘stone’ towards the target at the other end by sliding it smoothly across the floor. The score is then determined by the number of stones closest to the centre of the target.

Each team picked up the new game really quickly and soon started thinking about some tactics.

At the end of the morning, the results were collated… Congratulations to Cadover, who were our overall winners today!

It was a highly competitive event all the way through and we even had a tie for 3rd place at the finish – results below. Well done to everyone who took part today, I really hope that you enjoyed playing.
