We were hoping to be able to be able to put together an online Conference this year as we cannot hold the usual Conference due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We have listened to feedback and realise that at a time of return to schools, it would be difficult for many people to attend an online Conference at this time. We have made the decision to move the Primary PE Conference to the Summer Term 2021 where we hope to be able to deliver the traditional Conference with CPD workshops as well as a keynote.
We understand the main priority for schools is the 'recovery curriculum' and will include:
Ensuring that there are plenty of opportunities for children who have been inactive during lock-down to have opportunities to engage in regular physical activity again
To increase social interaction between young people
To create a sense of well-being by ensuring that children are having fun in a supported, safe environment
As we know, physical activity is the perfect subject to deliver these priorities so we don't need to change what we are doing dramatically, just adapt what you have previously doing to ensure that this is done to the government guidelines e.g working outdoors when possible or in an indoor environment at 50% capacity, cleaning of shared equipment or quarantine of equipment for 72 hours.
PE Specialist teacher will be available to support you and will adapt delivery to support staff with a safe return to activity. There are lots of documents to help:
