PSSP Event and Offer Update

It is with great regret that the Plymouth School Sports Partnership (PSSP) have decided to cancel all PSSP Events and fixtures planned in Term 5, up to May half-term, due to public health concerns linked to the coronavirus pandemic. With the likelihood that the Government’s measures will continue for many months, we will continue to review events for the second part of the Summer Term and will make decisions accordingly.  This decision is related to the school closures currently in place, the cancellation of mass gatherings, as well as movement and travel restrictions currently in place.  It is our view that cancellation of PSSP Events is the best decision in the interests of public health, and that we will able to provide certainty by taking this decision now, rather than after Easter as initially planned.The PSSP staff are available to work with schools in the following ways:

• PE Specialist Teachers will be in contact with the schools that they work with to offer help and support, this may be with delivery of activities for students that are currently in school. We can also offer the following with zoom meetings/calls /online support etc:
• Support with creating PE Development plans
• Curriculum Mapping
• PE Learning Journey
• PE Policy writing
• Advice on schemes of learning
• Applications for School Games Mark Awards
• Risk assessments
• Reporting on the Primary PE and Sport Premium spending to be published on school websites

• There is a variety of equipment that can be loaned out to PSSP Schools which will help to keep children still in school active.
