*IMPORTANT Changes to Summer Athletics Events

**Important changes to Summer Athletics Events**

Plymouth City Council confirmed in January 2020 their commitment to resurface Brickfields athletics track, which is likely to be scheduled in Spring and Summer 2020.  We are in close consultation with the Council regarding this and have therefore made the early decision to re-schedule all of the PSSP events that were due to take place during the Summer Term.

The Quadkids and Super 8 – LOCATION MOVED TO TAVISTOCK AND DATE CHANGES

These events will be held at Tavistock Athletics Track (PL19 8DD).  Whilst we realise that this may affect the number of schools that attend due to the travel involved, the alternative would have been to cancel which we do not want to do.  We are only able to secure two dates for these events so there will be no reserve dates.  We will put in a wet weather contingency plan, but the events will go ahead on the following dates:

• Yr 5/6 Quadkids -  29/04/20 12-5pm at Tavistock Track (same date)
• Yr 3/4 Quadkids -  04/05/20 9am-12pm at Tavistock Track (previously 13/05/20)
• Secondary Super 8 - 04/05/20 1pm-4pm at Tavistock Track (previously 13/05/20)

Primary Athletics Event – DATE CHANGE

Due to the size of this event, we are unable to move it to Tavistock so we have had to move the date.  This event will now be on Wednesday 15th July 2020 at Brickfields (previously 10/06/20).  We understand that this is the last week of term for many so may cause some problems.  This has been a hard decision as we do not know when the track will be ready, but we are as confident as we can be that the event will go ahead on this new date.  The alternative was cancelling the event this year, which is not something that we want to do.  There is no reserve date for this event and we will put in a wet weather contingency plan.
