Year 3&4 Indoor Athletics 12.02.20

Wednesday 12th February we had our first of two, Year 3&4 Indoor Athletics events at the Life Centre where 120 Year 3 and 4 athletes from 10 schools were going to compete against each other in a number of different track and field events!

In the field we had events such as standing long jump, chest push, speed bounce and soft javelin and on the track we had events such as 1+1 lap relay, 2+2 lap relay, 4x1 lap relay, 6 lap paarlauf and once all these had been completed we had the event that everyone loves... the obstacle race which involves the athletes running through the high stepper, then onto the speed bounce, jumping over a hurdle before using the reversa board to turn back and run all the way back!

Same routine as always, while the girls were on the track, the boys were in the field trying to gain valuable points for their teams and once they were done they would swap over and vice versa, it was very close throughout the whole competition and came down to the obstacle race right at the end, and the results finished as follows:

Elburton- 298 points

Salisbury Road- 272 points

Hooe Primary- 256 points

Oreston – 252 points

Lipson Vale- 178 points

Holy Cross -176 points

St Edward's- 160 points

St Budeaux- 154 points

Laira Green- 142 points

Stuart Road- 110 points

Congratulations to Elburton Primary who finished on a massive 298 points!
