Primary Inclusion Football 15.01.2020

What a fantastic start to the New Year with another great turn out for our PSSP Primary Inclusion Football event. 36 children were here this morning representing their schools: Cann Bridge, Woodford, Laira Green, Oreston, St. George’s C of E, St. Budeaux and Prince Rock.

This friendly festival aims to provide children with the opportunity to play and meet new people but also to celebrate the School Games values of Self Belief and Determination.

In this competition, 5 points are allocated for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. Everyone who takes part receives a certificate, but we also award a very special medal to an individual on every team; this unenviable task of selecting just one player falls to the teachers from each school – they are looking for some outstanding displays of sportsmanship. Congratulations to all of our worthy recipients today – you must have done something extra special as your teachers always want to give their whole team a medal.

After 7 rounds, the scores were calculated, and the results announced. Congratulations to Laira Green Primary who were our overall winners today and to St. George’s who were a very close second.

Well done to everyone who took part today, especially if it was your first time playing or representing your school – you all played brilliantly, and I hope that you are keen to come back again. I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday 04th March 2020 for our next Primary Football event.
