By now, you should have all received details on how to enter the 2020 DELT Shared Services Schools Challenge.
We would really like to see all schools taking part in the At Schools Challenge in 2020; it’s a great opportunity to engage students in the programme if you have a high demand for places on the Hoe (or if attending the event on the Hoe is not suitable for your students or staff). It’s also an excellent way to get your students active!
If your school has had a ballot for places to complete the Schools Challenge on the Hoe, for those who were not successful, the At Schools Challenge is a superb way for them to be involved and continue to be involved in the programme; YOU CAN ENTER AS MANY STUDENTS AS YOU LIKE!
The DELT Shared Services Primary Schools Challenge helps to promote a healthy and active lifestyle amongst local school children. Pupils will cover a total of 13.1 miles over a period of 13 weeks promoting a gradual improvement in their running and stamina. All children taking part in the Schools Challenge will receive their very own Britain’s Ocean City Schools Challenge Half Marathon Medal, a quality drawstring goody bag and a t-shirt.
We would really like schools to embrace and celebrate the final mile of the At Schools Challenge; it could be completed at a lunchtime where the rest of the school support their friends as they cross the finish line, or maybe an after-school event where parents are also invited to the celebration! Alternatively, the medals and goody bags can be handed out in assemblies or other celebratory events.
The PSSP will be able to offer support for these At Schools Challenge final mile celebrations if you would like it.
