SJH Indoor Athletics Heat 06.11.19

The first Indoor athletics heats were held at Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, we had 4 schools attend who were Whitleigh, Oakwood, Beechwood and Woodfield.

The girls were up first on the track competing in the 1+1 and the 6 lap parlauf and they set some extremely fast times, whilst the boys started on the standing triple jump and the standing long jump.

Next up the boys took to the track to try and gain some valuable points for their teams whilst the girls took to the field to do the stand triple jump and the standing long jump.

After some very close events it all came down to the obstacle relay, to gain some last minute points for their teams and it was a very competitve but very quick race.

At the end of the competition it was Whitliegh Primary who came out with the gold medal scoring a massive 130 points, with Woodfield coming in second place with a very good score of 92 points, followed very closely by Oakwood with 88 points and Beechwood also scoring a good score of 52 points.

A massive thank you to all of the competitors, you all put in an amazing amount of effort in all events, and a huge thankyou to all the leaders for helping out in the events today!
