Primary Inclusive Boccia 08.10.2019

Our first Inclusive Boccia event for this academic year and celebration of the School Games Value of ‘Determination’. 11 teams from PSSP schools came along to Plympton Academy to take part in our friendly Boccia event aimed at children of all abilities and experience. St. Budeaux Foundation, The Cathedral School, Mary Dean’s, Elburton, Cann Bridge, Salisbury Road, Yealmpstone Farm, Prince Rock and Marine Academy Primary all brought teams along to take part in our very relaxed, friendly competition where we play against as many different teams as possible in the time we have.

These are always some of my favourite events as it is great to see so many children from different schools enjoying playing but more importantly sharing a mutual respect for each other. Throughout the event I was able to talk to different teams and we discussed the importance of determination.

Everyone agreed that the more they played, the better they became so it was a real testament to never giving up and practicing. Some of the children who took part today had never played before but we had some young leaders from Plympton Academy who were on hand to guide them through and lead the games. I would like to thank all of the leaders for their help and all of the staff that sent/brought their teams along today – I hope that you all enjoyed watching as much as I did and hope that your teams are keen to come back again.
