Plymouth School Sports Partnership Platinum &

On Wednesday 18thSeptember 2019 32 students from 7 schools attended the annual Plymouth School Sports Partnership Platinum & Gold Young Ambassador Conference.

The Young Ambassador, Leadership and Volunteering Programmes were conceived as part of the Olympic Games volunteering movement and is now both embedded and established within schools nationally and locally.

THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES OF A YOUNG AMBASSADOR:

  • Be an Ambassador and role model advocating PE and School Sport
  • Increasing participation in PE, School Sport and competition
  • Promote the positive values of sport
  • Deliver an Intra House/Tutor inclusion festival
  • Mentor their schools Silver Ambassadors and Leadership Academy students

The conference was aimed at school Silver Ambassadors who have shown the dedication, values & skills necessary to progress onto the Platinum or Gold Ambassador leadership pathway and aimed to highlight the values, attributes and skills students have learned through leading and volunteering and how these transfer into the world of work and higher/further education.

The conference looked at the areas of ME; Personal ME, Social ME, Creative ME and Thinking ME.

08:30 – 09.00     Registration

09:00 – 10:00     Workshop 1 (Inclusion & Creativity)

10:00 – 11.00     Workshop 2 (Communication)

11:00 – 11:30     Break

11:30 – 13:30     Workshop 3 (Employability, Public Speaking & Presentation Skills)

13:30 – 13:35     Closing Ceremony
