Secondary Inclusive Football 19.06.19

Wednesday 19thJune 2019 – A great turn out for our last PSSP Secondary Inclusive Football event for this academic year. Teams from Cann Bridge, Plympton Academy, St. Boniface and Stoke Damerel all came along to take part in our friendly competition. As well as being an opportunity to compete against other schools, we take this opportunity to celebrate the School Games values of Respect, Team Work and Determination. All teams are competing for points but there is also 1 special medal awarded to 1 player on every team for displaying those fantastic sportsmanship qualities. The teachers from each school are asked to select their individual and it is always incredibly difficult as all the students taking part are incredible at supporting their teams and showing respect to others and the referees. In this competition, 5 points are allocated for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the event, the scores are totalled and the winners announced… Congratulations to Stoke Damerel ‘A; who were our overall winners, beating their own Stoke Damerel ‘B’ team to the top spot by just 2 points. Well done to all of the players today – there were some great games to watch, some fantastic goals and impressive saves. I would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic young leaders from Stoke Damerel Community College who did an amazing job refereeing and scoring for us today as always.  Thank you as well to all of the staff who brought their teams along – looking forward to seeing you all in the new year for some more PSSP events.
