Primary Inclusion Football 12.06.2019

Wednesday 12thJune 2019 – What a great turn out for our last PSSP Primary & Special Schools Football event for this academic year. Teams from Cann Bridge, Yealmpstone Farm, Eggbuckland Vale, St. Andrews CofE, Knowle, St. Peters RC and Mary Dean’s all came along to take part in our friendly festival. As well as being an opportunity to compete against other schools, we take this opportunity to celebrate the School Games values of Respect, Team Work and Determination. All teams are competing for points but there is also 1 special medal awarded to 1 player on every team for displaying those fantastic sportsmanship qualities. The teachers from each school are asked to select their individual and it is always incredibly difficult as all the children taking part are incredible at supporting their teams and showing respect to others and the referees. In this competition, 5 points are allocated for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. At the end of the event, the scores are totalled and the winners announced… Congratulations to Yealmpstone Farm ‘A’ team who were our overall winners today and to Eggbuckland Vale, who were a very close second place. Full table of results below. Well done to all of our players today – you played brilliantly and it was a joy to watch – I hope you enjoyed the event as much as we all did. I would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic young leaders from Stoke Damerel Community College who did an amazing job refereeing and scoring for us today. Thank you as well to all of the staff who brought their teams along – looking forward to seeing you all in the new year for some more inclusion events.
