Tor Bridge Family Y5/6 Tag Rugby 2019

Wednesday 15th May 2019—A glorious afternoon of sunshine for our Tor Bridge Family Tag Rugby event this afternoon. Teams from Leigham, Montpelier, Thornbury and Tor Bridge Primary all came along to take part in our friendly event. We were fortunate enough to have some amazing young leaders with us today—Molly (our Tor Bridge High Silver Ambassador), Cory (our prominent member of our Leadership Academy), Herbie (coach for the under 10’s for Devonport Services) and JJ (who plays rugby for Plymouth Argum). These leaders did a fantastic job of getting the teams warmed up, refereeing the games and coaching the players. Thank you all for your hard work—you really made this event such a success! We had some very talented primary children with us today– the games were fast paced, evenly matched and very exciting. We use this festoval as a coaching event to provide all of the teams with some tips for their next competition coming up later this term. It turned out that the tough rule to get our heads around this afternoon was the ‘2 hands on the ball rule’ - I think this managed to catch a number of players out throughout the afternoon but were making definite progress in the end. All of the teams taking part today had the opportunity to play each other and we had some great, friendly matches to watch. Well done to all who took part today—I hope that you all enjoyed it and are looking forward to your next event.
