Secondary Inclusive Football 08.05.2019

Wednesday 08thMay 2019 – We were incredibly lucky with the weather this morning for our termly PSSP Secondary Inclusive Football event – there was a huge downpour before we kicked off but then the sun came out long enough for us to play all of our games. Teams from Cann Bridge, Plympton Academy and St. Boniface all came along to take part in our friendly, round-robin event. In this competition, 5 points are awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. Although it is a competitive event, our focus is not just about winning – we celebrate the outstanding sportsmanship qualities of Respect, Teamwork and Determination. Everyone who takes part today receives a certificate but there is also a special medal awarded to one player on every team; the recipients are chosen by their teachers (which is always such a difficult task) -  individuals who have really embodied these values throughout the morning. At the end of the event, all of the scores are tallied, and we announce our winners… Congratulations to St. Boniface ‘B’ who were our overall winners today and to Cann Bridge who were a very close second. Well done to everyone who played today – you all played incredibly well and I hope that you enjoyed the event. Full table of results below. I would like to thank the superb young leaders from Stoke Damerel who were our fantastic referees today and to all of the teachers who braved the cold with me to bring their teams along.
