Plympton Family Tag Rugby 2019

Friday 03rd May 2019—The sun came out this afternoon for our annual Plympton Family Tag Rugby warm-up event. Teams from Montpelier, Chaddlewood, Plympton St. Maurice and Yealmpstone Farm all came along to take part in our friendly event. We had some fantastic young leaders on and this afternoon from Plympton Academy to take the teams through a warm and referee and coach the games. It was clear we had a talented group of children out on the field this afternoon—there were some brilliant line breaks, great trys and some fantastic tags being made; one young man committed so much to the tag that he took flight and landed off the side line having made the tag and prevented a try! Todays’ event was an opportunity for teams to try their skills against other schools and receive some coaching before the bigger Tag competitions later this term. It was great to see so many children taking part and really enjoying playing Rugby. I would like to say a huge thank you to the young leaders today—Tag Rugby can be a tricky game to referee as there is so much fast action, but you did a brilliant job and really made this a great event—thank you. Well played to all of our teams—I hope you all enjoyed the event as much as I did.
