F/KS1 Staff Cricket Inset

Wednesday 01stMay 2019 – This afternoon was our final staff inset session for Foundation and KS1 staff for this academic year. Teachers from several PSSP schools came along to take part in a session run by the very knowledgeable and talented, Mr. Stephen Pritchard (Schools Development Manager for Devon Cricket). At the start of the session, Steve introduced us to some fun warm up activities that we can do with our classes to get them moving, thinking and practice some fundamental skills. There were lots of different game-based activities to play and we even looked at how these could be tailored to compliment current class topics. Throughout the session we got to try out the games as well as discuss how they can be adapted – I am already looking forward to trying out ‘Mayhem Cricket’ with some of my groups! Thank you to everyone who came along this afternoon and a special thank you to Steve for running such a great session – we got loads of great ideas that we can put in to practice with our classes.
