At today's KS2 gymnastics festival held at Coombe Dean School, children from 5 schools - Mary Dean's, Elburton, Dunstone, Wembury and Oreston - had the opportunity to balance, spin, twirl, jump, roll, flick and stretch on the bars, beam, trampette, sprinboard and floor.
I was really impressed by the quality of gymnastic performance on show today - abilty was mixed but the standard was very high and many of the children were inspired to try new skills.
After two rounds of the gymnastic circuit the judges invited one pupil from each school to to participate in the floor and springboard competition.
Congratulations to the following:
Floor Competition
Anna-Maria - Mary Deans - 1st,
Indigo - Dunstone - 2nd
Erin - Elburton - 3rd
Springboard Competition
Morgan - Mary Deans - 1st
Lottie - Wembury - 2nd
Ava - Elburton - 3rd
Well done to all the children who took part with so much enthusiasm. They were asked if they saw something today which made them think 'wow' and everyone of them put their hand up!
Many thanks to the Coombe Dean leaders who once again motivated and inspired the primary children to try something new and to Aimee and Abi our 'Aspire club' coaches who judged the competition - they had a tough job!
