Level 2 Primary Indoor Athletics

On the 4th of February Marjons was an extremely noisy place, full of excitement and support. As our finalists from our cluster indoor athletics heats went head to head in order to qualify for the Level 3 event.

Our finalists were:

  • Whitleigh
  • Marine Academy
  • Montpelier
  • Bickleigh Down
  • Hyde Park Juniors
  • Salisbury Road
  • Old Priory
  • St Joseph’s
  • Compton
  • Woodford

This event was slightly different to the heats as the track started off and ‘Over and Under Relay’. This consisted of a course of hurdles and tunnels for our athletes to go through in a relay style format. The girls were up first, whilst the boys took to the field events for their first phase.

After a change over the boys took to the track and once again we saw some very close finishes! Whilst the girls went to the field events for their first phase.

As the event went of the standard raised significantly and the noise levels increase as each race was really close.

After the last race of the day, the obstacle race, the results were in:

1st – Salisbury Road – 366

2nd– Montpelier - 360

3rd– Bickleigh Down - 356

4th– Woodford - 290

5th– Whitleigh - 278

6th– Compton - 262

7th– Hyde Park Juniors - 250

8th– St Joseph’s - 224

9th– Old Priory - 200

10th– Marine Academy - 92

A massive well done to all who competed and congratulations to our top four teams that have qualified for the L3 event.

A huge thank you to the leaders from Notre Dame and Marjons for all their support.
