PSSP Primary Indoor Rowing Championships 2019

A soggy Tuesday 29th January brought us to Plymstock School for the PSSP Primary Indoor Rowing Championships.

320 students supported by Young Leaders from Plymstock School, took to the rowing machines in a race to be crowned the top school for their category.  The races were split into Minor, Inter and Major based on the amount of students on roll in Key Stage 2.  This year we had 14 primary schools in the Minor category, 12 in the Intermediate category and 14 in the Major category.

We had many different titles up for grabs in each of the categories.  Based on the total number of metres rowed, we were excitedly awaiting the results to find out who was going to be awarded; 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Individual Girls and Boys, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Team and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Overall.

Well done to everyone who came along and took part in this very popular event, we hope you had as much fun as we did!  Thank you so much to Plymstock School for hosting the event again and for the fantastic Young Leaders who supported the day.

A little inspiration with a lovely success story from last year...

Lottie came 3rd place in the Girls Individual Race at the PSSP Indoor Rowing Championships 2018.  She loved the sport and experience so much that she joined Plymouth Amateur Rowing Club.  Lottie competed in her first competition just before Christmas... the British Indoor Rowing Championships at the Olympic Park in London where she was crowned British Year 7 Girls Champion and took home a gold medal!  How cool is that!? Well done Lottie!
