Primary Inclusive Football 17.12.2018

Today was our last Primary Inclusive Football event this side of Christmas. 5 schools came along to take part in our friendly, fully inclusive, round-robin event.

Teams from The Cathedral School, Eggbuckland Vale, Hyde Park, Yealmpstone Farm and Woodford all brought children along to take part in a competition centred around Respect, Self Belief and Team Work.

Everyone who takes part receives a certificate but we also award a very special medal to an individual on every team; this unenviable task of selecting just one player falls to the teachers from each school – they are looking for some outstanding displays of sportsmanship, respect or team work. I think today, more than ever before, the teachers really struggled with this task. All of the children in all of the teams displayed outstanding Respect for each other today – it was really inspiring to see just how much these teams were supporting each other and their opponents. An enormous well done to you if you were the worthy recipient today – you must have really dazzled!

Congratulations to The Cathedral School who were our overall winners today having won all of their games. Well done as well to Eggbuckland Vale who finished just behind them in second place.  I would like to say a huge thank you to the Young Leaders from Devonport High School for Girls & Boys who came along today to referee our games for us – what a great job you did – the children had such a good morning  - as did I!

Well done to everyone who took part today – you played brilliantly and I hope you enjoyed the event as much as I did. Have a great Christmas everyone and I hope to see you at our next event in the new year.
