Tor Bridge Family Y5/6 Football 06.12.18

A very wet afternoon today for our annual Tor Bridge Family Y5 & 6 football event. The weather didn’t dampen our spirits though as 6 teams from our local primary schools came along to take part in our round-robin event.  Children from Tor Bridge Primary, Bickleigh Down, Leigham and Widewell came along to compete and also celebrate the School Games Value of Passion.

It was clear from the first game what passion these teams have for the sport and there were some outstanding players and team work.

The quality of Football was fantastic, a real joy to watch especially some of the spectacular saves. In this competition all of the teams get to play each other with 5 points being awarded for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss.

After battling it out in some very soggy conditions, we eventually worked out the totals and announced our winners.

Huge congratulations to Leigham Primary who were our overall winners today having won all of their games. Congratulations as well to Widewell ‘A’ team who came a very close second.

Well done to everyone who took part today – you all played incredibly well and I hope that you enjoyed it.

Lastly, I would like to thank the young leaders from Tor Bridge High that came along to referee our games today – as always, you did a great job of running the games and were brilliant with all of the players – thank you for all your hard work.

Our next event is after Christmas now so I wish you all a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
