Youth Sport Trust - Primary School Workshops

The Youth Sport Trust are running workshops aimed at primary schools early next year.

The total cost will be £200 + VAT per school to attend one of the sessions with all 3 workshops listed below plus YST School membership.

Colleagues need to click the link that is relevant for the session they would like to attend and then register their interest. Once 10 delegates for each workshop are registered, invoices will be generated and sent to each school. If a colleague has not got an account with YST then they will initially have to sign up to create one – but it explains this on each link.

The Power of an Active School workshop supports schools to increase physical activity throughout the school day. This bite size version will allow schools to look at their school context and identify area where activity can take place with some simple solutions. 

14:30-15:45

Early years and KS1 PE workshop. This workshop aims to give PE coordinators and practitioners support in planning an appropriate and challenging 4-7 years physical education curriculum that meets the needs of all their learners by a stage not age approach and where physical activity and school sport can support this at the crucial stages in developing healthy, happy, successful young people.

16:00 - 17:15

Role of the School Governor in maximising the impact of the Primary PE and Sport Premium. This workshop aims to give primary Governors information and advice about how to maximise the impact of the Government primary investment in PE and school sport. This workshop will explore how to ensure High Quality PE is offered to all students and why it should be the entitlement of every child. It will also expand on accountability measures and pose key questions for Governors to consider.
