C4L Dodgeball 13.11.2018

It was our annual C4L Dodgeball Festival today at Hele's school and what a turn out! We had 9 schools come along this morning to take part in our round-robin competition that is just for fun. Teams from Woodford, Plympton St. Maurice, Pomphlett, Bickleigh Down, Hyde Park, Montpelier, Yealmpstone Farm, Old Priory and Tor Bridge Primary were greeted by the Young Leaders from Hele's and introduced to the rules and game of Dodgeball.

In order to focus on celebrating the School Games values of Honesty and Respect, instead of playing to win, we mixed all of the children up to form new teams.

After a fun warm up with the leaders, each team was in place to start. Most of the children taking part today had never played before and some were a little reluctant – this all changed after a few matches! It was clear that everyone was enjoying meeting new people on their teams and there was a real sense of team spirit in the Dome. It was great to see so many children (over 100!) taking part and enjoying playing and it became clear very quickly while collating the results just how close some of the games were.

Well done to everyone who took part today, I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we all did watching you play. If you did enjoy this morning – check out the clubs that are running in your school and get involved. I would like to say a huge thank you to the Young Leaders from Hele's school for all of their hard work today – I thought that it was a great event!
