SSE Girls Wildcats Centre Programme Age 5-11

The FA launched a new incentive last year to give more young girls the opportunity to get involved with football in a fun, friendly and relaxed way through the SSE Girls Wildcats Centre Programme

This is a funded programme aimed at 5-11 year old girls fully supported and endorsed by the FA. The Centres aim to attract girls who have played little or no football before.

The criteria to run a Centre is very basic, and training/CPD events for Wildcats Centres will be run locally to support any clubs who apply to run a Centre.

APPLICATION WINDOW NOW OPEN (closes 4th December 2018)

The application window for NEW centres opened last week and stays open until the 4th December.

*Note any clubs with existing Wildcats Centres – This application would be for an ADDITIONAL Centre, not a renewal of your current Centre.

In summary, applications are requested now, with Centres being granted licenses early in the New year to start delivery around Easter time. We have a really good number of licenses to award to plenty of opportunity for clubs to apply.

This really is a great opportunity for any clubs to run a programme for 5-11 year old girls. Whether you are a club with existing girls teams, or a club with no current girls provision at all, running a Centre is a great way to get more girls involved at your club.

There is no requirement for the Wildcats Centre to affiliate or become a ‘formalised’ team playing league football, though this would ultimately be a good way of feeding girls from Wildcats to league football if that’s the vision of your club.
