Primary Inclusive Archery 12.07.2018

It’s a busy time of the year at the moment with lots of exciting sports events taking place in schools.  Today was going to be an inclusive Level 2 Archery event for primary age children in mainstream and special schools but in the end it turned out to be a Level 1 competition for children at Leigham Primary School.

We unfortunately had a lot of schools who had to withdraw from the event at the last minute, but it fortunately all worked out well for the children from Leigham.

Young leaders from Plympton Academy were on hand to greet those taking part and we were soon off and running with a 3 round, highest score challenge. After the competitive element, we played lots of games designed to improve our accuracy and test our determination – we even had some numeracy challenges to get us thinking too.

We were a small contingent today but still had a lot of fun – it was great to see all of the children smiling and enjoying challenging their friends and teachers to a 3 arrow shoot out.

At the end of the event everyone received a sticker and a certificate for the determination to improve throughout the event. We also had prizes for the highest score competition - Congratulations to Archie. L who was our overall winner today with a very impressive score of 150 points meaning he hit 3 bullseyes with 3 arrows!

Well done to everyone who took part today – I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did – Mr. E, I think you may need some more practice!
