Today was our last Primary Inclusive Boccia festival for this academic year. What an amazing year it has been!
We have had more schools than ever before engaging with the Inclusion programme and more children playing Boccia than ever before. I know there are several schools across the city who are now leading their own Boccia clubs and it is great that so may now want to be involved in leading the games as well as playing.
Today we had a full house with 12 teams taking part. Teams from Cann Bridge, Salisbury Road, Drake, Pomphlett, Glen Park, Pilgrim, Thornbury and Eggbuckland Vale. As always, we had some great leaders on hand from Tor Bridge High to help set up and lead the games. We had 2 guest leaders today – Matthew and Tyler from Cann Bridge – they took the lead on some of the games and did a fantastic job working with the primary children.
In a role reversal today, we let the high school student’s play and the children from Drake Primary and Pomphlett showed us their depth of knowledge and growing confidence by leading the games themselves. Thank you and well done to you all – you did a fantastic job and made this one of the best events yet!
Next year, I am hoping to schedule even more Inclusion events so I hope that I see all of our regulars back and encourage some new schools to get involved.
Hope you all have a great Summer.
