Level 2 Mini Red Tennis 2018

On Wednesday 6thJune, Plymouth School Sports Partnership hosted a level two Mini Red Tennis event at Plymouth Life Centre for year 3 and 4 students from across Plymouth. Each tennis team had 2 boys and 2 girls within them. The scores were added up as a whole team in each set of games, the team with the most points at the end of 8 minutes would win that game. The event was a round robin structure followed by a top 4 play off and the other teams competing for positions from 5th– 8th. These were the overall standings at the end of the event:

1)      Compton A

2)      Kings

3)      Compton B

4)      Montpellier

5)      Oreston

6)      Woodford

7)      Map B

8)      Map A

A big well done to everyone who took part. There was a real showcase of skill and encouragement for each other. Congratulations to Compton A, Kings, Compton B and Montpellier who will represent their schools at the level 3 event held on the 20thJune. Another congratulations goes to Oreston who actually managed to get the single highest number of points in a game so they were awarded the plate award.

A massive thankyou to the young leaders from Sir John Hunt Community College for umpiring and scoring all of the games as well as the teachers and parents for supporting the event.
