Tor Bridge Year 3&4 Kwik Cricket 27.04.17

Another fantastic primary sports event hosted at Tor Bridge High School by the Young Sports Leaders. This afternoon was our annual Y3/4 Kwik Cricket event. Our Young leaders worked with Matt Cook (Devon Cricket) in the morning in order to be able to officiate and score properly for the festival in the afternoon.

Teams from Tor Bridge Primary, Thornbury, Leigham, Whitleigh and Bickleigh Down all came along to take part in our friendly competition. Our young leaders were putting their new skills to the test by umpiring all of the games and doing a fantastic job at scoring. It was great to see so many young people taking part and enjoying playing Cricket.

The event was organised in to a round robin tournament so that everyone would get the opportunity to play all of the other schools. 5 points were allocated for a win, 3 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss.

Thank you to all of the teachers that helped out their teams and kept them all going despite the rapidly dropping temperatures.  At the end of event, we tallied the scores and revealed the much anticipated results… Congratulations to Bickleigh Down Primary who were our overall winners today having won all of their games! Well done as well to Thornbury Primary who came a very  close 2nd. A full table of results can be found below.

Well done to everyone who took part today, we really hope that you enjoyed the event as much as we did. I would like to personally thank Matt Cook for his time today and also to the young leaders—Aimee, Holly, Owen, Ebony, Emma, Bethan, Dylan, Reece, Lewis and Owen—who did such an amazing job and ensured the smooth running of the event.
