Primary & Special Schools Football 06.07.16

Wednesday 06th July 2016

It was so good to see the sunshine this morning and it made our final Primary Football festival for this academic year all the more enjoyable.

It was great to see some new schools taking part as well as some of our regular attendees. Teams from Montpelier, Plympton St. Maurice and Pomphlett all took part in our friendly competition.

All of the teams taking part today received a certificate for their fantastic effort and team work but it was Pomphlett who were our overall winners on the day.

As well as this team event, we also asked the staff from each team to identify one individual from each team who showed outstanding respect, team work, commitment and effort; each child indentified then received a medal from their teacher to acknowledge their great work throughout the event.

Congratulations to all who took part today – there was some great Football being played and it was fantastic to see so many children (some of whom would not normally take part) getting involved and enjoying sport – I hope that you would like to come back again in the new school year.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the young leaders from Stoke Damerel who once again were outstanding – thank you to Mr. Hammond for his amazing work with the leadership academy at the school.

Thank you to all of the staff and volunteers that brought their teams along – I will be in touch as soon as possible with a list of dates for next year so hope to see you all back then.
