Incorporating Strength & Conditioning Training in PE
Secondary CPD Course delivered by Ian Davis (ROOTS Health & Performance) – at Plympton Academy.
Underpinning principles - We will briefly explore and discuss a few of the key principles which drive learning and adaptation, along with how these relate to maturing children/adolescents.
Structuring practice ideas - Ideas and options for how to schedule or plan sessions to include all of the major bio-motor abilities - some brief discussion will likely occur due to differing scenarios.
Demonstration of exercises - Practical session demonstrating progressions and regressions of movement patterns and abilities. Coaching cues and instruction techniques will be suggested. Exercises/movements will be based on having access to minimal equipment (to suit school scenario with large groups)
