Event description

England Cricket Leaders Award which is part of the cricket chance to shine programme and aimed at increasing the interest and participation of students in cricket activity. Students do not need to have any knowledge or previous experience of playing cricket, but just a willingness to take part and enthusiasm for developing their leadership skills:

The award will be delivered by an experiences ECB level 2 qualified coach with a full DBS check and the award is being funded by the PSSP and is offered to students FREE of charge.

The cricket award is of a practical nature, so students will need to arrive at the venue clothed and equipped for physical activity, including trainers. Students will need to be prepared for all weather condition (Rain, Cold, Sun) and will need to supply their own food, drinks and snacks for the day.

By the end of the award students will be able to deliver an appropriate, purposful, enjoyable and safe criket sessions.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Empower girls to design, create and deliver crickt activities to their peers and to engage and inspire girls to take up the cricket
• Support girls to become leaders, to understand what leadership is and to articulate and apply the leadership skills they have developed
• Provide the training and resources to support attendees in their cricket leadership roles
