Intent – why?

Intent – who?
  • Poor mental health
  •  Hidden child - under the radar
  • Low confidence
  • Low self-esteem
This year our dance festival will have a theme of the Birmingham Commonwelath Games 2022. Inspire your dances, costumes, props and song choices to link in with this. Get creative and interpret it in your own way. The Birmingham Commonwealth Games has a very colourful mascot called Perry, so it can be as simple as linking in colours or telling a story of your favourite sport through dance, it's up to you!
  • Team Size: Each team can consist of no more than 30 students from year 3, 4, 5 and 6, (All from one year or a mixture of all).

Dance information: Schools can enter a maximum of 3 dances chosen from the following:

    • Group dance
    • Quad
    • Trio
    • Duet
    • Solo
*You don't have to do three different group sizes; you can do three group ones for example*

Each school must come with prepared dances to perform to other schools. As it is a festival, dances will not be judged however displayed to other schools as a performance.

  • Song length: No dance must be any longer than 2 minutes long. However, if you are slightly over that is fine, especially if you are doing one or two routines.

Good luck and have fun choreographing!
