We are sure you will be thrilled to hear that the final mile will once again be completed on the Hoe! There will still be an option for those to complete their challenge at school or home too if you have children unable to make the date.
Due to the success of this year’s Plymouth Running Festival, the Half, 5K and 10K will all be run at the same time during the morning of Sunday 19th June. Children taking part in the School’s Challenge will arrive on the Hoe towards the end of these races and will run their final mile in the afternoon (actual time still TBC). Parents, carers etc. who have taken part in the Running Festival, will then be able to watch their children complete the School’s Challenge.
The change in timing for this event also means there is no limit on the number of children who can complete their final mile on the Hoe! There are still adult to children ratios though, so please stick to 1:5 for KS1 and 1:10 for KS2 and you won’t need any extra adults to stay in the enclosure.
Due to the increase in capacity, we will split the enclosure so there are designated areas for special schools, KS1 and KS2 and they will all run their final mile separately.
The deadline to return your completed entry forms is Tuesday 1st February 2022. The entry form declaration must be hand signed by your Head Teacher/Head of School or it will be returned. We will send you an email confirming your entry numbers and t-shirt order.
All schools will receive an invoice from Redrok Events, which must be paid in full by 11th March 2022 (note that if full payment is not received by this date, you will not be able to participate).
Finally, if you are entering the School’s Challenge, please add 4:15pm on Thursday 26th May 2022 to your diary for the event briefing meeting. A representative from your school will need to attend this to receive information and sign for your t-shirts & race numbers.
