This event is open to Primary, Secondary and Special Schools in the PSSP. This inclusive Rowing event will take place on the Hoe on Thursday 17thSeptember 2020, as part of the Mayflower 400 commemorations and is open to SEND children in Y5/6 and Y7/8. 6 children per team – no experience necessary. Children will be shown how to use the equipment safely and then we will hold a series of competitive Rowing challenges. 1 booking per school initially please.
The event will start promptly at 10:30 and we are aiming to be finished by 12:00. A presentation on the main stage will take place as soon as we have collated all results.
This event will be open to the public and there is a high possibility that there will be some media presence, so please ensure that you seek permission for all children to be photographed. Immediately following the event, there will be the ‘Rehabilitation Triathlon’, hosted by the Royal Marines for ex-service personnel: schools are encouraged to stay and enjoy the event as well as take part in some other activities that will be put on for the day. There will be so much going on the whole week and this is an amazing opportunity for our children to be involved.
