Dear partner,
Thank you for your entry into the Winter School Games, scheduled to take part this Wednesday the 18 March. I’m writing to advise you that we have reached the difficult decision to cancel this event in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The decision has been made to safeguard the welfare of all participants, young leaders and staff who were scheduled to attend. We appreciate that this news may be unwelcome and that your pupils look forward to events such as these which provide such a valuable experience.
We had hoped to continue to run the event with additional precautionary measures in place, however, given the rapidly changing situation we no longer feel it’s appropriate to host such a large scale event. In addition many schools have understandably made the decision to withdraw from the event, meaning some events lacked enough teams to make this viable.
At present we do not believe it’s appropriate to propose a new date, but will keep this option under review.
Please can we offer our sincere thanks for the support your school shows the school games programme, and hope that we are able to welcome you at a future event.
