As part of the Mayflower 'Get Active' Programme, in February 2020 we are focusing on promoting and developing rugby within Plymouth. As part of this, the Plymouth School Sports Partnership would like to run a 'Girls Rugby Festival' on Thursday 6th February 2020 from 10am-2pm at Plymouth Albion RFC.
We are inviting students from Plymouth Secondary Schools, aimed at girls who have an interest in playing rugby but are new to the game. The proposed format is for girls to take part in some Coached 'fun' activities, some contact work and 'hugby' for the girls in Yrs 7-9 whilst female teachers take part in a bespoke workshop to increase their confidence in teaching rugby which is being run by the RFU.
Plymouth Albion Ladies have a home game on Sunday 23rd February 2020 and we would like to encourage all those that attend to come and watch the game at Plymouth Albion. We hope that some of the Plymouth Albion Ladies players will be able to support the coaching sessions on 06/02/2020.
