The Annual Devon Secondary Schools’ Table Tennis Team Championships will be held this year on WEDNESDAY 7th NOVEMBER 2018 at Eggbuckland Community College, Westcott Close, Plymouth PL6 5YB. The starting time will be 10.00am and finishing time approximately 2.30pm – depending on the size of entry. (The Primary Schools’ Team Championships will take place on Monday 5th November at Plympton Academy). Hot food and light refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the day (served by Joola Table Tennis Club).
Events to be held will be Under 19 Boys and Girls, Under 16 Boys and Girls, Under 13 Boys and Girls. The decision as to whether the competition will be run on a group or knock out basis will depend upon the size of the entry and the decision as to this matter will be at the sole discretion of the Devon Schools’ Association Secretary (Graham Pearson), whose responsibility it is to organise the competition.
Teams will consist of four players (with the exception of the *U19 Girls) but may be changed during the competition so that extra players may be used. Substitutes must play as the fourth ranked player. If numbers 1-3 drop out, original players move up one place to allow the substitute to play as number four. Players must be listed in rank order of ability and must be under the age stipulated on 1st September 2018. Players may take part in only one age group competition and at least one playing member of each team must be competing in the youngest event for which he or she is eligible.
*U19 Girls rule change: A team will consist of 2 players who will both play each of their opponents at singles and there will be a doubles match (half way through the singles matches) making a 5-set match. At least one of the two players needs to be too old to take part in the U16 competition (ie of sixth form age).
The two colour bat rule will apply for this competition as will the usual rules prohibiting the wearing of white clothing by competitors. Shorts must be worn during play.
All winning schools will represent the County in the Zone Championships that will be played on Sunday 20th January 2019 at Eggbuckland Community College.
Schools may enter only one team per age group
Fees: **£15 Affiliation plus £5 per team (cheques made payable to DSTTA or please let us know if you require an invoice to pay by BACS).
** This charge will also cover school affiliation for the Secondary School Individual Championships on Wednesday 6th February 2019.

NB – late entries will not be considered under any circumstances.
