The training young leaders workshop will be based around the following School Games Mark Question and look at how leadership training and opportunities can be embedded into your PE curriculum.
Question 6: Workforce Broadening the Range Of Opportunities
Engage students in the leading, managing and officiating of School Games Activity, have an active School Games Organising Crew that influences provision, provide every student with the opportunity to learn to lead in lessons and utilise coaches, volunteers and outside providers to support school sports delivery
Engage at least 5% of the students in leading, managing and officiating in School Games activity (BRONZE)
Engage 10% of students within and beyond the curriculum in leading, managing and officiating in School Games activity (SILVER)
Every young person is provided the opportunity to learn to lead through curriculum PE as part of the lesson structure (GOLD)
Engage 15% of the students in leading, managing and officiating in School Games activity (GOLD)
Have a School Games Organising Crew in place that influences provision (GOLD)
Utilise sports coaches, volunteers or other providers to support school sport and physical activity delivery that compliments your School Games Organisers provision (GOLD)
The workshop will also look at how to set up and support a school Leadership Academy and School Games Organising Crew and how all aspects of sports leadership can be used to support the delivery, leading, managing and officiating of school games activity in your school.
