PSSP Dance Festival (Primary Events)
PSSP presents- 'A Night at the Movies'
12:00-12:30- Arrival and lunch
12:30-14:00- Learning opening routine
14:00-16:00- Dress Rehearsal
16:15- Doors open
16:30-17:30- Performance
Intent – why?
- Improve mental health and well-being (state of well-being in which
every child realises his/her own potential - Raise self esteem, self confidence and self worth (think positively about
themselves and how they perceive the world around them)
Intent – who?
- Poor mental health
- Hidden child - under the radar
- Low confidence
- Low self-esteem
- Team Size: Each team can consist of no more than 30 students from year 3, 4, 5 and 6, (All from one year or a mixture of all).
Dance information: Schools can enter a maximum of 3 dances chosen from the following:
- Group dance
- Quad
- Trio
- Duet
- Solo
*You don't have to do three different group sizes; you can do three group ones for example*
Each school must come with prepared dances to perform to other schools. As it is a festival, dances will not be judged however displayed to other schools as a performance.
- Song length: No dance must be any longer than 2 minutes long. However, if you are slightly over that is fine, especially if you are doing one or two routines.
- Theme: 'A night at the movies'
You can be as creative with your routines as you like. Costumes and props are encouraged!
Spectators: We encourage spectators to watch, however there will be limited seating. Each school will get a number of 'tickets' to give to parents/spectators. These must be presented on arrival. Maximum capacity will be sent out asap.
If you would like support with choreographing, Hayley can come into school during PE lesson time to support those attending. This is included in your subscription. Please contact her to arrange.
