Leadership & Volunteering Award

  • The Plymouth School Sports Partnership Volunteering Award is an inclusive award open to all students regardless of age, gender, leadership experience or sporting ability
  • Students do not have to have completed, or be taking part in any of nationally recognised leadership qualifications to participate in the award
  • There is no set age bracket for the Award in Sports Volunteering. Students of any age or key stage can participate in the award scheme
  • The Award in Sports Volunteering can be started at any time during the academic year. Students have the total of one academic year to collect as many hours of volunteering as possible
  • Students do not have to take on leadership or coaching roles in order to participate in the Volunteering Award. Any form of volunteering can be recorded in their log book. E.g. washing kit, cleaning stores, setting out equipment, managing, helping during lessons, refereeing fixtures, organising tutor/house teams
  • To start the Award in Sports Volunteering you simply print the number of log books you require
  • Students need to make sure that any sports volunteering they do is recorded in their log books.  This should include a date, description of the skills shown & a signature from a member of staff or adult
  • To achieve a Bronze Award students must complete 30 hours of volunteering, Silver Award 60 hours of volunteering, Gold Award 90 hours of volunteering and Platinum Award 120 hours of volunteering
  • Once a volunteering experience has been completed any member of staff can record and sign the log book
  • Certification can be made on completion of the required number of hours
  • Once the required hours have been achieved, simply print the relevant  certificate & present to the student
