PSSP Primary & Special Schools Football

Wednesday 17th June 2026 – A little bit of drizzly rain wasn’t going to stop us this morning for our PSSP Inclusion Football event. 4 teams (Austin Farm, Cann Bridge, Courtlands and Montpelier) joined us for a morning of Football but more specifically an opportunity to have some fun being active. Although the games are competitive, the spirit of this event is very much focused on teamwork, respect and determination, rather than winning at all costs. I find these events to be a wonderful opportunity to witness social connections and mutual respect between schools/children – it is fantastic to see so many smiles. As we were only a few schools today, we decided to forgo the usual round-robin format and instead we played 2 rounds of friendly games so that everyone played each twice. Once again I was fortunate enough to have the support from the amazing Sports Leaders from Stoke Damerel – they refereed our games and coached the children: you really are a credit to your school, thank you all! At the end of the morning, we celebrated with a presentation of certificates before everyone headed back to their schools. Well done to all of the children who participated today, you were great! Thank you to all of the teachers/staff who brought their teams along – I hope you enjoyed it as well. Check out the PSSP website for more upcoming Inclusion events.
